A safe place to heal a broken heart

Divorce Recovery meets every Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 in Room F213 at First Baptist Smyrna. Click for Directions.

We are using an outstanding video speaker series called DivorceCare. We invite you to drop in any Monday evening at 6:00 PM, watch the video and meet our leaders, then decide if you'd like to come back. When you decide that you want to continue, there is a one-time $15 registration fee that includes your personal copy of the workbook and allows you to attend this 13-week series multiple times. If needed, scholarships are available (instantly) when you register, and children’s activities are available at the same time. Registration Form may be filled out and sent to the office or brought to your first class.

Please join us as we learn from expert speakers about how to recover and heal from the pain and devastation caused by marriage separation or divorce. You will find the meeting topics to be very helpful, and presented in a safe and supportive manner. If you would like to learn more about restoring or reconciling your marriage, please join us and let us know that you'd like help in this area.

Meeting Format

We are using the 13-week DivorceCare video series and workbook. Each week, the topic is presented on video by a panel of
Expert Speakers for about 35 minutes. These expert speakers are well-known counselors, authors, pastors, and conference speakers.  The video is followed by small group discussions, led by discussion group facilitators (who have been through divorce).

Each week we discuss the "On My Own" section of the workbook for the prior week's video topic. This section has five days of Bible verses that help you apply that week's video topic to your own situation. You may download printable versions of the "On My Own" Bible verses (from the NIV).


DivorceCare for Kids is a special group to help children heal from the hurt caused by the separation or divorce of their parents. At our weekly DC4K group, kids make friends with other kids who understand how they feel and the things they are going through. DC4K will meet on Monday evenings beginning January 11th. Pre-registration is required as class size is limited - Click Here for the form. Childcare for birth - 4 years is available upon request.

Our Divorce Recovery Discussion Group Facilitators are men and women who have experienced the pain of divorce, and the healing that is available. If you think you'd like to serve as a Discussion Group Facilitator, please email us and let us know about your interest.
