Upward Sports

Welcome to the Upward Sports Ministry of First Baptist Church Smyrna!

Upward Sports is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for kindergarten through eighth grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child.

In Upward Sports, our goal is to help children grow and develop in all areas: physical, emotional, and spiritual. In many sports and recreation programs, winning is emphasized as the priority objective. In Upward Sports, we place emphasis on building character qualities like best effort, sportsmanship, leadership, and above all, Christ-likeness. The development of these character qualities, coupled with skills development, results in a sports ministry that benefits the whole child. This focus in no way diminishes the competition. In fact, it enhances and stimulates it, all in a fun and exciting atmosphere.

The Upward Sports Ministry of First Baptist Smyrna offers cheerleading, basketball, flag football, softball,and t-ball leagues. Upward Sports provides opportunities for the members of our church, and the community at large, no matter what denomination, to become meaningfully involved in the sports ministry of First Baptist Smyrna. These opportunities include coaching or assistant coaching, becoming a commissioner, a prayer partner, a concession worker, and much more.
