Seniors Ministry

First Baptist Smyrna has a large and vibrant senior ministry. Our success is the result of seniors sharing with others their excitement about what this ministry means to them.

A Senior Ministry team works with Richard Brown to plan a holistic program to meet the needs of seniors. The ministry is theologically based, recognizing that each individual is created by God and is worthy of dignity, usefulness, and satisfaction through service to others.

Our activities are planned to meet specific needs for senior adults. We invite you to enrich your life by joining the growing, dynamic, fun-loving group of seniors at your church.

In the book of Jeremiah the Lord said, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” If you read this promise carefully you will see that God’s promises are not limited by age. These plans are for everybody, so we hope you will join us in our senior adult ministry.

First Baptist’s Seniors Ministry is designed for persons 55 years and older. It is founded on a basic teaching of the Bible, the worth of each individual. Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). This abundant living is for all of life. In harmony with this teaching, we assess the following essential needs of senior adults and present a balanced program to meet them:
